Peter Hudoba: Holliday Seasons - The Solstice

Dear friends,

Last year I have presented similar post and it has had quite a significant number of visitors. I feel it would be good to remind ourselves about the meaning of celebration of the time of Solstice.

The time around the winter solstice has been celebrated for thousands of years, and different religions have developed different festivals around this time.

Budhists celebrate Bodhi Day - The Day of Enlightenment, celebrating the day that Shakyamuni experienced enlightenment (also known as Bodhi) on December 8.

Hanukkah - the Festival of Lights, observed in Judaism for eight nights and days, starting on the 25th day of Kislev, which may occur at any time from late November to late December in the Gregorian calendar.

In Ancient Roman Religion was a Festival Saturnalia (basically a festival of Solstice) held in honor of deity Saturn on the 17th of December and later expanded with festivities through to the 23rd of December.

About 5000 years ago, Stone Age people have build a large circular mound, 76 m across and 12 m high at Newgrange, Ireland. Within a mound, there is an interior chamber and 19 m long stone passageway with entrance on the southeastern side. The entrance and passageway are perfectly aligned with solar movements.
Once a year, in the morning on December 21 (or 22), on Winter Solstice, the rising sun shines directly along the long passage and illuminates the inner chamber for about 17 minutes.
The Newgrange Mound is older then Stonehedge and Pyramids in Ghiza, and is one of the oldest documented attempt to mark winter solstice.

Return of Yang, a festival celebrated by Daoists on December 21.

Yalda -The turning point, Winter Solstice, was celebrated early in the history of the Germanic peoples on December 21. The pagan Scandinavian and Germanic people celebrated twelve-day "midwinter" Winter solstice holiday called Yule (Jul, Julblot). Many modern Christian traditions, such as Christmas tree, Christmas wreath, Yule log and others are direct descendants of Yule customs.

In Ancient Egypt religion, God-Man Saviour Osiris death and rebirth was celebrated on Dec 21.

In Ancient Greek religion, The Festival Lenaea, the death and rebirth of harvest God Dionysos, was celebrated on Dec 21.

In Ancient Inca religion, the Festival If Inti Raymi, the festival of Sun where the God of Sun, Wiracocha was celebrated on Dec 21.

Toltec people celebrate Winter Solstice till today. They merged their own zenith cosmology with the Mayan system and build the pyramid at Kukulcan. When one looks at the western face of pyramid during the winter solstice, the sun appears to climb up the edge of the staircase until it rests momentarily directly above the temple before beginning its descent down the other side.

Shabe Yaldā or Shabe Chelle is an Iranian festival celebrating the victory of light and goodness over darkness and evil, it is a birth of Mithra, who symbolizes light, truth, goodness, strength, and friendship. It is celebrated on December 22.

In the Druidic tradition the name of this festival is "Alban Arthan", Welsh for "Light of Winter". On  the 21st or 22nd of December - winter Solstice, Celts have celebrated the return of the Divine Child, the Mabon, the rebirth of the Sun.

Korocun was celebrated by pagan Slavic tribes on December 21, the longest night of the year. On this night, Hors (symbolizing old sun), becomes smaller as the days become shorter and dies on December 22, the winter solstice. It is said to be defeated by the dark and evil powers of the Black God. On December 23 Hors is resurrected and becomes the new sun, Koleda.

The Dōngzhì Festival or Winter Solstice Festival is celebrated in the China on December 21 (22). It is a time for family to get together and eat traditional meal of glutinous rise balls (in Southern China) or dumplings (Northern China).

Anglo Saxon Pagans were holding Modraniht - The Night of Mothers, on December 24.

In Vainakh mythology, there a Malkh festival dedicated to the Deela - Malkh - the birthday and the festival of the Sun on December 25.

Sol Invictus ("The Unconquered Sun") was originally a Syrian god who was later adopted as the chief god of the Roman Empire under Emperor Aurelian. His holiday is traditionally celebrated on December 25.

Hindus in USA celebrate Pancha Ganapati, modern five-day Festival in honor of Lord Ganesha on December 21 - 25

Christians celebrate Blue Christmas - the day of Advent with longest night of the year on Dec 21 and later, the birth of Jesus on December 25.

Chahārshanbe Suri is a fire jumping festival, celebrated in Iran and Afghanistan. Ancient Persians Zoroastrian celebrated the last 5 days of the year in their annual obligation feast of all souls.

In Islam, they do not celebrate solstice. The Muslim faith follows lunar and not solar phases. Consequently, the time of religious festivals in Islam changes every year with reference to other calendars.

Whatever you are celebrating, I wish you from my heart, a very peaceful Holidays season, filled with God's love and light.

With love and blessings

Peter Hudoba: How to develop Ten Dao Qualities

dear Friends,

Today, on my radio show, I was sharing the Ten Dao Qualities of the Heart. This is absolutely wonderful teaching of master Sha, that he has brought to us over the last year.

I invite all of you to enjoy the recording Click here

Human heart is filled with all sorts of egoistical tendencies, e.g. selfishness, ego, jealousy, anger and others. If we want to reach enlightenment, we need to get rid of all of such things and we need to replace them with truly enlightened heart.

What are Ten Dao Qualities of the heart?

Da Yuan Man - Greatest Enlightenment
Da Fu Wu - Greatest Service
Da Gan N - Greatest Florishing
Da Chang Sheng - Greatest Gratitude
Da He Xie - Greatest Harmony
Da Qian Bei - Greatest Humility
Da Guang Ming - Greatest Light Purity
Da Ai - Greatest Love
Da C Bei - Greatest Compassion
Da Kwan Shu - Greatest Forgiveness

Master Sha teaches that we can develop these qualities in several ways. We can purify our heart and mind through meditation. When we chant some particular Quality mantra, our heart and mind enters into the pure state of that quality. The other way is to trace calligraphy for each of 10 Dao Qualities.   This way we can develop each particular Dao Quality.
Finally, it is very important that we express these qualities in our daily life, at every moment, no matter what we do. Everything that you think, say or do, has to express fully each of these qualities.

Peter Hudoba: The Power of Dao In Your Life

My dear friends,

One year ago, on my radio show, I was sharing some practical application of the Power of Dao in the life. The broadcast was made from Sedona, while I was on Dao Retreat with Master Sha. In a reminiscence to this, and especially, because Master Sha is holding a new Dao retreat in Hawaii, I am repeating this lovely broadcast today again.

Dao is so big no one can see it's limit, and it is so small that nothing is smaller than Dao. It has no shape, no time. It is not possible to describe it by words, no one can see it, touch it, know it.

How then, we can use something for ourselves that we can not see, touch, observe, understand, describe?

First, we have to be in the state of no EGO, free of all desires, free of all prejudice. Only then we can allow the Force of Tao to do what it is supposed to do. And that is basically all what it is.

Dao acts all time, without interruption, in all in the universe. When we are in any particular situation, that situation has occurred just as a result of Dao action. This is the key to understand. It is  Dao that causes things to happen, not us. Then, we know that all we need to do, is to remove our own desire, and simple align ourselves with that flow of Dao in the situation.

And, voila! We are carried forward without any effort on our own, completely and perfectly.

I wish you a great success to unite with Dao!

With love and blessings

Peter Hudoba: Master Sha Dao Retreat in Hawaii

Dear Friends,

Today I am sharing about the Dao retreat of master Sha in Hawaii. It is such a spectacular event! I took part on Dao 1-2 and I will return for Dao 5-6.

This retreat master Sha has focused on the purification of the heart. This is very important aspect of reaching Dao.

Master Sha teaches us to chant all time. We  can chant Lu La Li mantra to purify and enlighten our heart, to bring it into a state of love, peace and harmony. This is best way to heal and enlighten our heart.

Peter Hudoba: How to live in Divine Flow

dear Friends,

Today, on my radio show, I have shared how to live freely in human society entangled by our own karmic chains.

Only when we are able to purify our karma, our own limitations, only then we can express our total talents and potentials. Finally, we can live in Divine Flow, expressing Divine in all what we do.

Master Sha teaches us to chant all time. When we chant Lu La Li mantra, our mind enters love, peace and harmony. This way we can loosen up our own karmic forces.

Peter Hudoba: Spiritual Testing

Dear friends,

Today, I have share some basic points on spiritual testing.

Master Sha teaches that each of us experiences some sort of spiritual testing on our journey to enlightenment. Anything can be a testing, and you can be tested at any time.

During the testing, soul world is checking if we are ready for the next level, if we are ready to progress. They probe our weaknesses and they do show up quite intensely.

I am very honored to share with you the guidance that I received from my dear teacher at times when I was in testing. Before, I tried many things, but ultimately, it was only what master Sha has guided me, that worked.

Master Sha has always reminded me to stop analyzing and instead to chant mantra. He said, when a dark thought comes, replace it by mantra. Later, we added a forgiveness.

Anytime you are confronted with spiritual testing, always assume, it is the result of my own mistakes from past, that are now coming back to me. Never blame anyone, always assume responsibility, offer gratitude and appreciation for the testing and ask for forgiveness for the reasons that lead to the testings (usually your karma).

Peter Hudoba: Are Your Enlightenment Practices Right for You ?

dear friends,

Today, I share  how we can decide if what we practice and how we practice, is correct or not.
There are many different religions, spiritual orientations. There are many different teachers, different styles, different techniques.
How do you know which one is good for you?
I believe, the only way to know, is, to see the results. If the results are good, than, what you practice is good also.

Dear Friends,

Today, I have a great joy to share with you the story of our long time student Ann. Ann approached me several month ago with a great difficulty in her life.
Her sister was terminally ill, hospitalized in a hospice in USA. The relations in the family have been quite dysfunctional for a long time and Ann was quite upset because was not able to be able with her sister and support her during last months of her life.

I offered Ann two kinds of help, one - I instructed her to do forgiveness practice on distance with her sister's soul. Secondly, I recommended several sessions in our Calligraphy Power field. (Master Sha has created for us very powerful Dao healing field from eight calligraphyies). Ann spent several hours in the healing field and asked that her family relationships would be healed.

Recently, her sister has passed and Ann was able to be with her to the last seconds. She offered a chanting if Ar Mi Tuo Fo (name of a Buddha) and to her big surprise, it was very appreciated. The passing of a beloved sister has become a healing moment for all. Ann also, was so grateful that she could help and the traumatic situation was much easier to go trough.

Ann's relationship with her husband is turning into loving and supportive.

We are so grateful to Master Sha for creating this incredible tool to help our students and public in Vancouver.

Please enjoy Ann's story:

Peter Hudoba: Are you able to forgive?

Dear friends,

I was very honored to teach a forgiveness on my radio blog today.

Master Sha teaches that success and failure in any aspect of the life comes from our karma.
If we have done pleasant kind actions to other people, we were loving, caring, compassioned, then we have a good karma and our life will be successful.  If we have done unpleasant actions to other people, we were angry, unkind, mean and so forth, then we have not good karma and our life will have all sorts of frictions and road blocks in it.

Therefore, anytime you are confronted with some sort of unhappiness, always assume, it is the result of my own mistakes from past, that are now coming back to me. Never blame anyone, always assume responsibility and ask for forgiveness.

Peter Hudoba: Life Saved by Karma Cleansing by Master Sha

Dear Friends,

Today I would like to share with you an amazing story of one Vancouver Family.
Cara is very successful and very respected teacher of arts and lives a challenging life of single mother. For past several years, she has been a very devoted student in master Sha mission and has supported our centre with a great devotion. She is very talented in many ways, but most of all, she has a very beautiful and pure heart.
Life has not been easy for her and she faced many different challenges. Over the years, the effect of Divine Love and Light coming to her life from master Sha, has made many wonderful things to happen and Cara's life has been improving all the time, becoming very happy and peaceful.

Over this summer, the family was hit by powerful dark force. Father of the child is going through significant challenge. The child itself started to have significant problem also.

Finally, few days ago, Cara has been hit hard too. She did not say anything to me, as she was getting more and more depressed, just withdrew into herself. This happened over the time when I was away in Hawaii, together with my teacher. I returned on Monday, but as we did not have any class that day and I did not see Cara.

When I returned Tuesday evening from my work, I went to meditate and then I recieved a message from Heaven, that Cara is in a danger.

I called her right away and realized the gravity of situation. I offered her an help the way I could, but it was until later, when master Sha was able to clear very heavy dark force from her. The change of Cara state back to normal was instant, almost unbelievable.

We are grateful beyond words to master Sha for saving Cara.

Peter Hudoba: My Experience with Dao Chang Caligraphy Room Vancouver

dear Friends,

I am honored to share with you an amazing story. Today, I had to prepare a special program, when we broadcast from our Dao Field Calligraphy room, here in Vancouver. From whatever reason, the computer would not work. I really tried everything. First, the wireless internet would not work. I managed to find a long cable and brought internet to the room via cable. It would not work, although it did in another room. I finally gave up with computer 1. I started computer 2. The internet would work, but, this time, the streaming program would not work. It did on the computer 1, but there internet would not work. I finally managed to have it work, all seemed be OK, but when I checked webcasting on line, the broadcast was pitch black. Nothing was getting through!!

You can imagine the situation. We had many listeners who booked themselves to view the program, but waited in vain. I can tell you, not and easy situation.

But, I was in Dao Field Calligraphy Room. The incredibly strong field helped me to remain relatively calm, as calm as you can get in this type of situation. And, although the webcast did not work, eventually, the solution appeared, I used the phone line, to offer at least participation by listening. It took about 45 minutes to sort out, but eventually, I did succeed.

I am so grateful for Dao Field, no matter what blockage, we can successfully overcome it. We are so blessed.

Peter Hudoba: Enlightenment of the Mind

dear Friends,

Welcome!

Today, I share  the teaching that I gave only few weeks ago. It was so popular, that I decided to do it again. I have taught and practiced with listeners Master Sha`s technique to Reach Enlightement of the Mind by Quietude and Stillness using the mantra from Immortal Dao.

In 2002, I lived in Zen monastery for a short time. We practiced quiet and stillness of mind a lot, almost 10 hours a day. I did enjoy it very much. Master Sha teaches us to chant all time. I enjoy that also! Master Sha says what you chant what you become. When we chant Quiet or still, our mind enters Quietude and Stillness. This way we can reach Enlightenment. This is wonderfully explained in line 97, 98, 99 and 100 in Immortal Dao Mantra in Dao II book of Master Sha.

And remember, always continue any treatments for any mental illness and health issues with your medical doctor, our techniques are not replacement for medical care. The Practice with Stilling the mind has to be done carefully, step by step, never enforced!!!
